Worshipful Ironmongers
Scunthorpe C of E: Acknowledging the support of the Worshipful Company of Ironmongers.
We are incredibly proud and grateful to have the continued support of the Ironmongers’ Company. The Company has generously awarded Scunthorpe C of E School an annual grant, helping to enrich the experiences, opportunities and learning environment we are able to provide for our children. These funds, made possible through the generosity and charitable giving of Ironmongers’ members for over 300 years.
Over recent years, the Ironmongers’ Company has supported a wide range of projects and initiatives at Scunthorpe C of E, including educational visits for children who may otherwise be unable to access them, subsidised transport to take part in Young Voices in Sheffield, and developments to our Early Years outdoor learning environment. Their generosity has helped ensure that our pupils can continue to benefit from rich, memorable and inspiring experiences both within and beyond the classroom.
The Ironmongers’ Company has a proud history stretching back more than 700 years, with its origins rooted in the iron trade in the City of London. Throughout its long history, charitable work and supporting communities have remained central to the Company’s values. Today, the Company continues to champion education, science and technology (STEM), the iron and steel industries, and care for older people, alongside supporting schools and young people across the country.
We are deeply thankful for the partnership and encouragement of the Ironmongers’ Company and for the positive impact their support continues to have on the lives of our children and wider school community.
