Mental Health and Well-being
At Scunthorpe CofE Primary School, we are committed to promoting positive mental health and wellbeing for all pupils, as well as our whole school community. We are dedicated to making a difference and ensuring that all under our care feel happy and safe.
We recognise the importance of looking after mental health and wellbeing, in the same way we look after our physical health. We recognise that pupil’s mental health is a fundamental factor in their overall wellbeing, which can have a significant impact on their learning and achievements. We develop pupils’ confidence in their own ability to be able to learn independently, persevere, be resilient, to work together and think critically. Therefore, we acknowledge how important it is that we all work together to support mental health and wellbeing in the best way that we can, maximising opportunities and achievements for all and knowing that we all have a role to play.
At Scunthorpe CofE, our Mental Health Lead and our Year 6 Mental Health Ambassadors (photo below) work hard to give our pupils not only these skills but also adults and peers that our pupils can turn to if they need support. We work closely with the charity “With Me in Mind” to deliver workshops to our classes and additional support when needed.
Optimistic October!
